Trying Japanese cheesecake for the first time and let's just say it's definitely different! Uncle Tetsu was pretty busy on a Saturday morning which made us even more curious on what we've been missing out on. We opted for something simple with it being our first time. The consistency of the cheesecake was very fluffy and the taste of strawberry was very faint. We found that the cheesecake tasted more like strawberry after being refrigerated overnight. We would come again to try another flavor but won't be running here for dessert.

Great place to get Japanese cheesecake in the Katy area. I was surprised on how delicious the cake tasted. It's like a sponge that melts in your mouth, very creamy, not too cheesy, perfect sweetness. The texture is amazing and is very easy to eat. I would come back.

Favorite place to get Japanese cheesecake. Been coming here since their grand opening. Strawberry, black sesame, and pandan coconut are my go-to. For birthday stamps, you have to call the day prior. Semi-sweet Japanese fluffy, soft cheesecakes is what you should expect. Cherry Blossom is good but my mother said it tastes like soap (if you like floral sweets then I recommend it or just for parties). Their basque cheesecakes are the less sweet version of an American cheesecake, which I also enjoy. Recently, they introduced a smaller versions of their cheesecakes, I believe 4 for $20 whereas their normal size is $16. Random specials so check out the prices in the store such as 2 for $20. Friendly servers and it's just a simple small place where you get what you need and leave. No sit in but they do offer samples throughout the day for you to try. There's some parking in this plaza but many just park in one spot and walk around to the different plaza in this nook of Katy Asian Town.

I've been wanting to try an Uncle Tetsu Japanese cheesecake for years. I'm not a fan of traditional cheesecake, but this always looked so interesting to me, and as I'm not a fan of super sweet desserts, I'd heard Asian desserts are much less sweet. We ordered the strawberry and the Oreo cheesecakes and OMG they were so delicious. I had a hard time stopping myself because they're so light and delicate it's easy to eat the whole thing. If you're a fan of super sweet, you probably won't like this, but if you like light refreshing desserts this is perfect. Go now!

Easy 5 stars from me! When I was visiting my girlfriend in CA, she took me to uncle Tetsu and I loved it very much and when I came back to TX I was hoping that uncle Tetsu is near my area! Surprisingly, it's located only 10 mins away from where I live and I finally got to go get an original cheese cake from there yesterday! It was so good and delicious in my mouth I hate the American sweetness as they excessively use sugar but these cakes are very Japanese taste (subtle/gentle and acceptable sweetness) which I love! I'll definitely come back and get other flavors! Very welcoming environment with a good service as they were giving away ube samples! Yum yum :) Keep up the good work! Cheers

I love Japanese cheesecakes. They are airy, light, and not too sweet. I never feel the guilt of eating one alone at one go. I did just that after buying the black sesame cheesecake from Uncle Tetsu. The black sesame flavor wasn't overpowering, and I can still taste slight bitterness in the cheesecake. The cheesecake is about 6inches, single layer, which to me, is a perfect size for one person. I couldn't resist the pretty cheese tarts on display. I got one of each flavor. The richness of the cheese tarts was perfect. The cheese tarts were of the right sweetness too. The tart shell was thin and the filling was of the right amount. My favorite was the original. I highly recommend everyone to try the original cheese tart. I was given a sample of their biscotti. They were very thin and coated with sugar. They were perfect to munch on as a snack. The staff was very friendly and was patient with my questions. There is no table nor chair for customers to sit down and enjoy the goodies. FYI.
